TechPort aims to bridge the gap between technology, capability, small businesses and the United States (U.S.) Navy!
Technology changes rapidly, and with a multitude of government barriers, nontraditional and small business are struggling to adapt to these changes quickly and effectively. Enter TechPort, a physical location, outside the gate Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River that acts as a convenient point of interaction between Naval Labs, industry, academia, and other military branches. It also houses many programs that fall under the umbrella of TechPort, to include the NavalX Southern Maryland (SOMD) Tech Bridge, the NAWCAD Technology Transition Office, the Naval Aviation Systems Consortium (NASC) and multiple Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) between the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) and Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), The Patuxent Partnership (TPP) and The St. Mary’s County Office of Economic Development. These PIA partners have the ability to communicate directly with government agencies, industry, academia, and the public to assist with completing complex technological projects at a faster rate, with higher returns.
